LES COUILLUS

Mirabelle Kirkland was born in 1971 to a French mother and an American father. She grew up in Massachusetts, attended Phillip’s Academy, Andover, and later, Northwestern University. Since 1991, she has been living in France and working as an actress in theatre, television and film. Internationally noted performances include the role of Marie-Antoinette in Patrice Leconte’s “Ridicule”, and that of Valérie in Otar Iosseliani’s “Adieu, Plancher des Vaches”. Mirabelle has been writing for theatre and for film since 1997, and has completed six plays, the third of which is currently in production. Her first short film, “Regarding Angelique”, won nominations and awards in national and international film festivals such as Gruissan, Aubagne and Villeurbanne. She recently completed her second short film “Home Team” on the topic of domestic violence, which won the support of the Ministry in charge of women’s rights. Mirabelle also hosts weekly television shows about family entertainment for the Cinecinémas channels, part of the Canalsat cable network.
