Elías León Siminiani
Elías studied Hispanic Studies and Film Directing at Columbia University, New York. Passionate about the possibilities of audiovisual, has researched various formats and genres. In his fictional work for film highlights 'Dos más' (2001), (Best Drama at Emmy Awards 2002 Student Choice Award and Spanish Version), 'Archipelago' (2003) (Jury Award, Best Screenplay, Audience Award Columbia University 2003) and finalist for Latino Filmmakers Showcase 04, Sundance Channel, and 'Ludoterapia' (2007), best Short Film in Europe 2007. In non fiction series highlights key concepts microdocumentaries Modern World whose first four deliveries, 'La oficina' (1998), 'El permiso' (2001), 'Digital' (2003) and 'El tránsito' (2009), have risen more than 100 international awards. Also, Elijah has explored hybrid formats with pieces like 'Zoom' (2005) and the series 'Límites' (2009), among others winning the First Prize of the Festival de Alcalá (ALCINE 09), and the first prize Concurso Iberoamericano de Cortos Versión Española (TVE). In 2011 premiered a new short fiction titled 'El premio' fiction whose proposal around a real event was recently nominated for a Goya 2012 as best short fiction. Produced by Avalon PC, Pantalla Abierta and himself, "Mapa" is his first film.
