For the second year in a row, the
Alcalá de Henares/Comunidad de Madrid Film Festival is publishing a
book analyzing the latest in Spanish cinema. And once again
Hilario J. Rodríguez has been charged with designing and coordinating the project.
'Contemporary Voices. Conversations with the latest in Spanish cinema' is a natural extension of the previous project
'Viewpoints on a new millennium' published twelve months ago. The book draws together the thoughts of
fifteen directors who each represent an original way of making and understanding films.
It is difficult to point to uniformity in this generation of storytellers. They each have an individual viewpoint, far from any preconceived thought processes. The
interview format is therefore the best option for the transmission of individual emotions, sensations and reflections. The volume joins a number of
books of interviews published by ALCINE throughout its lifetime ('Mirror Outlooks', 'The language of light', 'Words, stories, images' and 'The invisible language').
Miguel Albaladejo, Jaume Balagueró, Eduard Cortés, Patricia Ferreira, Javier Fesser, Juan Carlos Fresnadillo, Salvador García Ruiz, Cesc Gay, Ángeles González-Sinde, Isaki Lacuesta, Achero Mañas, Manuel Martín Cuenca, Marc Recha, Alberto Rodríguez and Benito Zambrano complete the pages of a project that roams the least known back roads of Spain's industry in recent times.
