Maddalena Sisto was always very keen on women who tried to reinvent themselves anew to feel different just by changing their look. The young women (ladies) she draws are probably always the same woman, her own portrait perhaps, figures on whom she casts a thoughtful and sympathetic gaze. So, here are actions and reactions of a woman as she relates funnily with her dog, which symbolizes fashion, while her stylish but gullible owner wrongly thinks she dresses the part of her master. It will only be in her own stark nudity that the main character, the woman, will find refuge from her anxieties.
