During the Argentinean economic depression in the late 1990s, I noticed that a lot of North Americans were going to Buenos Aires to buy cheap apartments, hold on to the property and sell expensively when the market had picked up. I decided to combine this exploitation with an incident which happened to an elderly lady in London who was exploited by a young man because she was no longer beautiful. He bought her apartment cheaply and then put it on the market for an exorbitant price. This story is the revenge of that woman. I went to Buenos Aires and instead of buying an apartment and exploiting the Argentineans, I used the money to make this movie.
