PRINCESA DE ÁFRICA

Princess of Africa

España. 2008. Color. 80 min. Documental. Vídeo.
  • Film Director: Juan Laguna.
  • Producer: Paco Laguna.
It's the story of two dreams. Marem, a Senegalese dancer aged 14 who wants to emigrate to Europe, and Sonia, a Spanish dancer attracted by the magic of Africa. Pap Ndiaye links both women, father of Marem and husband of Sonia. Neither Africa is like Sonia was dreaming (Pap Ndiaye has two more women) nor Europe is like Marem was dreaming (no children in the streets and there's also poverty). It's a beautiful love story, of music and dance, where things aren't as they seem to be and women are the protagonists.
