LA MUERTE DE OTILIA RUIZ

Ida Cuéllar was born in Arenys de Mar (Barcelona) in 1977. He is a cinema director, scriptwriter and musician. Since he was young, he devotes himself to Music, Poetry, Photography and Theatre. At his 20’s, he started to be interested in Cinema, which he considers an art where he can jointly develop all other. He studies at the Cinema Schools 'Quincedeoctubre' and 'University of Cinematographic arts' in Barcelona. He further studies at 'Escuela de Cine de San Antonio de los Baños' in Cuba. In 2004 he starts directing commercials, achieving awards in Cannes, San Sebastián and Fiap. In line with advertisement, he directs several short films ('Rhythm' in 2002, 'Myths' in 2004) and music videos, and works in artistic photography and music (Caballo o pistola, Barcelona). At the moment, after completing his last short film 'La muerte de Otilia Ruiz', he’s working in a documentary project in Mexico and writing his first feature film.
