Emilio was born in Valencia in 1978. He studied Fine Arts in the Polytechnic University of Valencia, Direction and Animation in Halle (awarded a grant by a Media's programme), in the Bauhaus Universität of Weimar, UMBC (USA) and FIA-UIMP. He has filmed artistic videos and documentaries, alone or collaborating with other artists from Valencia, which have been shown at IVAM, la Casa Encendida o la Fundació Pilar i Joan Miró de Mallorca and he collaborates regularly with the German animator Raimund Krumme. 'Desanimado' is his first animation film alone.
