Melilla, thousands of people go there in search of their salvation. Those who manage to survive the arduous journey will only see their dream shattered once again, however. For many, there won´t be a new awakening.

Bruno Barranco
He was born in Melilla (Spain) 7 October 1970. His passion for photography led him into the world of art. At the age of 18 he was already making and editing short pieces. At the age of 26 he opened a professional photographic studio and in 2001 he made the decision to move to Madrid. He started some specific training in cinema and began to write scripts. He combined his training working for the prinicipal television channels in Spain. He has seen his hard work as pay off as director of the short documentary 'Emotional Solitude'. The short documentary is being circulated in festivals. Since its release in August 2008, it has reached 21 selections and has won 4 awards. One film in his filmography which particularly stands out is 'Notas de un inmigrante'. To film it, he moved to Melilla and Morocco, traveling to the border of Algeria as well.
