Maria Laura was born in 1960 in Italy. In 1987, she got her degree in Music History at the University of Rome, and is about to graduate at the Arts, Music and Entertainment Institute (DAMS) in Bologna. In 1990, in Rome, she attended a Direction stage with Nanni Loy and was admitted to the Rossini Academy. Since this year she works both as an assistant director and screenwriter. In 1988 she started to co-operate with Werther Germondari. She directed eight films since 1990, including 'Una Strada Dritta Lunga' (1994).
