A young Galician filmmaker keeps a film diary about his first months as an immigrant in Sweden, where he works as a construction labourer. The author uses the thorough filming of his work in construction as a metaphor to reflect about the construction of his own new identity as a migrant.

Eloy Domínguez Serén

Eloy Dominguez was born in 1985 in a small Galician village called Simes, in the provence of Pontevedra. He studied audiovisual communication at the Pontifical University of Salamanca, the IULM University of Milan and at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where I graduated in 2010. Before making Hijos de Sansón he worked in the cinematographic field and focused in theory, first, as a movie critic for the University of Salamanca Tribune, and Galician Radio, and later as director and editor of 'A Fourth Wall', which is the first digital magazine written in Galician dedicated to film critiques. In 2010 he was a member of the 67th edition of the International Youth Jornal at the 'Mostra Venice Film Festival', because of this experience Eloy enrolled in the Master in Creative Documentary Filmmaking at the Autonomous University of Barcelona, where Hijos de Sansón originated.
