Based on interviews with former prisoners, this animated documentary provides a glimpse into the most notorious women’s prison in East Germany. A film about political imprisonment, forced labour, and enormous profits on both sides of the Iron Curtain.

Volker Schlecht

Volker was born in 1968 in Germany. After having studied Communication Dessign in the Burg Giebichenstein-University of Art and Design Halle, Volker worked various years as grpahic designer in Prague, Halle on Saale and Berlin. In 2002, he founded Drushba Pankow, a collaboration with the artist Alexandra Kardinar, working as illustrators and graphic designers. Since 2007, he teached illustration at the Berlin technical art college (BTK-FH) and animation workshops at the Academy of Fine Arts Dresden (HfBK).
