As a child growing up in a Turkish city, I and my friends had little opportunity to go to the movies – and least of all they would show children's movies. Moreover we never had enough money to watch a film as a group in order to share some quality time together. Instead, everyone would contribute the little money he had so that at least one of us would be able to go to the cinema. When the lucky would come back and tell us about the movie, all others experienced the movie in their very own fantasy and imagination. Today I'm a European metropolitan living in a city full of different colours, pictures and stories. I have studied art and engage in making films. When I think back of my childhood and the wonderful stories told at the movies, these memories still fill my heart with joy. Being a filmmaker, stage designer and costume director for both film and theatre, a desire emerged in me to tell this very special story of my childhood. And I'd love to share my memories with the viewers of my short movie.
