It is 1856 and the skies of Edinburgh are too cloudy to see the sky. Charles Piazzi Smyth, Royal Astronomer of Scotland, writer and multifaceted artist decides to arm himself with his telescopes and photographic equipment and carrying them 10,000ft above the clouds of Tenerife.
