Adam is a third contrabass player at the philharmonic orchestra. His wife Eva, plays first violin. She is the concertmistress. During the concert, Adam is having a heart attack. At the hospital, Adam tells his wife, that he faced the final judgement - a committee consisting of Chopin, Gershwin, Beethoven.
