A year ago, a car crash made Andres into an invalid and took his son. Now he is holding a birthday party and among the invitees is his long-time friend, the doctor Indrek. They haven't met for years. At the same time, Indrek has developed a love affair with Andres's wife, Margit. Indrek happens to have brought along a deadly amount of morphine. Margit's boredom with her husband, soon-to-be exposed love affair and greed motivate the irreversible chain of events that unfolds.
