Jakob Schuh was born in Munich in 1976. He started studying dramaturgy at the LMU in Munich, and after a year took up animation/direction at the Film Academy Baden-Württemberg, while at the same time he studied illustration in Salzburg at the Summer Academy of Fine Arts. In 1997 he attended the master's class in painting and experimental animation at the College of Applied Arts in Vienna. He has been involved in various animation film productions since 1995 and has worked as caricaturist and illustrator for the Süddeutsche Zeitung.
