'Tanguito' was Marcelo Piñeyro first film in 1993 and won several awards. 'Ashes from Paradise' won a Goya for the best foreign film in Spanish language. 'Burning Money' was a big hit in Argentina achieving six hundred thousand viewers in six weeks. In Uruguay it was the biggest ticket office success of the year. In Spain, France and USA it had positive reviews and a good number of viewers. 'The Method', based on the theatre play The Gronhölm Method, got a big attention from the cinema audience.
