In rural Arbitage, two families live and farm on opposite sides of the lemming valley. The Carab family farms potatoes in the poorer and smaller field, the Pews with the richer soil and larger field, grow sugar beet. The families have been feuding for generations...

Brendan Muldowney
Brendan is a graduate of Dun Laoghaire Institute of Art and Design. He has made nine short films. He received a FilmBase / RTE Funding Award in 1998 for his short film - 'Retribution in the Year 2050', and one in 2002 for 'The Honourable Scaffolder'. He finished the Irish Film Board / RTE funded SHORT CUT - 'Beauty Queen' in 2003. His short 'Innocence' won the Tiernan MacBride - Best Irish Short Award at the Galway Film Fleadh 2002, Best Short / Best Director at the Kerry Film Festival 2002 and Best International Short at the Roma Independent Film Festival 2003. His 2004 short 'The Ten Steps' won eight awards, including Best Short at Stella Artois Diversions 2005, New York Children's Film Festival 2005 and Sitges 2004. He presently has feature projects in development with the Irish Film Board and a TV series with RTE in Ireland.
