Borges locates the story at 1922, period, in which fascism and anti-semitism like global ideology arise; in fact Borges locates Zunz in a closed world, in fact, nearly a ghetto. Then the idea of being Jewish in a world like this came up to me and the questions: What does being Jewish mean? Have we all been Jewish once sometime and somewhere?
