The Gold Rush is still on. Somewhere in far-away Siberia, gold diggers keep searching every square centimetre of soil with pickaxes. The focus is on one of them. He lives in stringent conditions, alone facing nature, equipped with a short-wave transmitter, a metal detector, scales and a rifle.In the evenings, this older but still hale man makes detailed notes of each day’s yield in his diary. He lost faith in people a long time ago – he arrived at the conclusion that only gold really matters in life. When confronted with him, the most beautiful friendships break up and other people cease to be important. The camera accompanies the main character in his every-day rush and documents his bitter reflections on human nature.
