A poet is at his writing desk when a coachman knocks at his window and invites him to follow him. Through the window of the coach his memories flash by: the opera, a wonderful prim donna… It is time for the poet to write his last lines. La Vita Nuova is a cinematographic palimpsest, directly inspired by the work of Gérard de Nerval.
