A meteor storm arises when the Earth collides with collections of particles and small rocks from Space. The dust grains of the meteor swarm called the Leonides burn up when they enter the Earth's atmosphere at a speed of 250,000 kilometers per hour. This is called a shooting star. Every 33 years there is a possibility of a meteor swarm causing more than 1000 shooting stars per hour.
