Everyday Antony, a hairdresser, goes to work by bus. One day he notices that Esperança, the bus collector, has a certain beauty hidden in her untidy look. After some time, Antony and Esperança start a relationship that cannot be accepted by social conventions. These meetings provoke a deep change in their lives and their appearance.
